Imagination Takes You Everywhere

"Love is all around me and so the feeling grows. It is written on the wind, it's everywhere I go"

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

“Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.”— Albert Einstein

We can go everywhere we want to as long as we can imagine. Imagination frees us from our biases and our inflexibilities if we allow ourselves to be opened. Imagination is like a rehearsal without feeling restricted because we can express ourselves anyway we like. Imagination allows us to see beyond our filters. If we were to look at a beautiful blue sky through a thin straw, we wouldn’t enjoy it as much than if we saw the sky with our own eyes. It’s very difficult to look through a straw to only see in part and not the whole. Imagination stimulates the mind to help create new ideas to improve on something that can make life better.

One Kick 10,000 Times

“I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.”— Bruce Lee

If we work on one thing at a time, we would go a long way. Once we master one thing, then we can learn how to master the other thing. There are things that are complex that we need to break down into parts for us to master. Once we master all parts then we can put them all together to work for us. This is the best way to learn something is to break them down into smaller parts. We learn so much one thing at a time without feeling overwhelmed. We ought to be patient with ourselves and allow ourselves to get acquainted with everything at our own pace because we all have different speeds of learning. Practice makes near perfection. Practice does make us better than we first started out. What better place to use our time in practicing something worthwhile to us.

Self-Knowledge and Self-Improvement

Change

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

“Self knowledge is the beginning of self improvement.” — Spanish Proverb

How can we make changes when we don’t know what changes to make. For change to occur we must look inside ourselves to see what we’re doing to avoid changing. The things we don’t want to change in us are probably because we’re getting something out of them. We don’t want to admit to ourselves that we must give up the beliefs for us make a change. We want to stay a certain way because there is some kind of gain we get from it but at the same time is keeping us from moving forward. A secondary gain is usually about our dependent need to blame another and not allows ourselves to move pass that point in order for us to grow and to claim responsibility. We’re responsible for making our own mark.

Small Beginnings

The beginning

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

“From small beginnings come great things.”— Proverb

Everything starts out small. Small beginnings are our growing and learning times. There are a tremendous sacrifice and struggle in the beginning.  We have to start with a new mind-set because we aren’t used to this new pattern of work. Just starting somewhere is a big leap to later see great things unfold before our eyes. It is our dreams that motivate us to continue doing the work until our goal is reached. We got to get our hands dirty to see clearly in our minds what move we want to make next.  Keeping our purpose in mind is like using a flashlight at night so we can see where we’re going. As long as we know our endgame we will see clearly how the parts go together.

Life’s Under No Obligation

“Life’s under no obligation to give us what we expect.” — Margaret Mitchell

We all have certain expectations. We have different levels of expectations. Sometimes we find ourselves wanting to make things a certain way because we’re unhappy the way things are going. However, we don’t have to fall prey to having high expectation because it will come to disappointments in life. If we deal with life as it is, then we have the opportunity to use our abilities and to grow into ourselves. Life doesn’t owe us anything. We’ve been given the gift of life and that’s enough. Each day is an opportunity to celebrate life. Today is our time to contribute to the world so that the future generations have better opportunities to have better and healthy lives.

Take A Look In The Mirror

Mirror

Post Written Eugene Morgan

“If you’re still looking for that one person who will change your life, take a look in the mirror.” — Roman Price

We can’t wait for change to occur because we’re the only person who can make a change. The person that’s looking back at us in the mirror is the person who knows what we want in our lives. Although our path will seem foggy at first, we can look back and see a clearer path. There is no freedom and power when we’re waiting for someone else to change our lives. We shouldn’t allow someone else to make the changes for us especially when we have our own dreams we want to fulfill on our own terms.

Enjoying This Point In Time

enjoy life, this is not a dress rehearsal
< em>Post Written By Eugene Morgan

“The whole life of a man is but a point in time; let us enjoy it.” — Plutarch

We get so busy with our tasks that we forget to enjoy the hard work we put into it. It’s all right to allow ourselves to enjoy our lives since we have only one life. The whole life of a person maybe a speck doesn’t mean that we are insignificant.  All that matters is how significant we see our lives because it is ours to live. We are born, we live and then we die. We are born into this life and death will take us out of this life. Since the former already has happened, then let us enjoy our time alive together until the latter comes.  Yesterday is gone forever and tomorrow has yet to arrive, but today is here this moment to enjoy.

Something Good In Every Day

Give us this day...

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

“Every day may not be good, but there’s something good in every day.”— Unknown

The media show us what’s bad in the world because that’s their job to inform us. However, bad news can overshadow the good news and that can affect us in our personal life. We also need to know what’s good in the world for us to reflect that in our personal lives. We need to see also that there are people in the world that are making a difference for others who are in distressed and in need of help and comfort. We need to know that there is hope for humanity and that we’re resilient people as long as we’re doing our part. We can know that we have some good in ourselves and reflect that in our actions not for a show but an expression of ourselves.

The Quest For Clarity

Shorebreak Clarity

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

More important than the quest for certainty is the quest for clarity. — Francois Gautier

Without clarity there is no certainty. We need understanding when we are unsure about things. Certainty in life is not always guaranteed. We can’t foretell our future. What is most important is what we do today that will affect our tomorrows. We have long-term goals and we also have short-term goals. Short-term goals are more useful in that they help us to gain clarity as we complete them. Short-term goals go hand and hand with some certainties because we can see immediate results.  We then can alter our behaviors accordingly based on results we get from our short-term goals.

Questions & Answers

live everything

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Your mind will answer most questions if you learn to relax and wait for the answer. — William S. Burroughs

Denial is very powerful when it comes to not facing truths about ourselves. We can answer most questions about ourselves, if we really want to know. Self-denial is simply to protect us from the truth because it hurts. But once we uncover things about ourselves, we can then begin the healing process. Our egos can get easily bruised at times when we feel hurt. Feeling our hurts is better than keeping them below the surface in which case takes a lot of energy to do. If we let go of our repressed feelings, then our anxieties will decrease and our world won’t seem to be so hostile. Our self-respect will be at an even level and then we will be at peace and we will be set free.

He Is Able

Balancing Act

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

“He is able who thinks he is able.”— Buddha

It is through our thinking that we’re able. If we think we’re able, then we’re able, but if we think we’re not able, then we will not be able. We have accumulated experiences that will give us proof that we’re able in which can be a constant reminder that we can fall back on to help build up our self-worth. We have many years of experiences that we can tap into that make us what we are today. We must believe in ourselves, but if we can’t believe in ourselves, then we must trust those who do believe in us. For those who do believe in us, can start to believe more in ourselves. Our thinking is based on a belief whether that’s negative or positive. We can choose to change our beliefs by shifting our thinking.

Make Every Hour Count

Don't count every hour in the day

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

“Don’t count every hour in the day, make every hour in the day count.”— Unknown

We’re most productive when we make every hour in the day count than if we count every hour. Someone who procrastinate counts every hour in the day, because the procrastinator wants to know how long can he or she delays before he or she does something to completion. So when we’re left with only a small amount of time, we feel compel to do something before a deadline. Then we must ask ourselves, what belief or thought that’s stopping us from starting sooner than later. We have the belief that we don’t have the capacity to do something or to learn something. With this belief, we look for evidence to prove to ourselves if this is true. We even set situations up where we procrastinated as a result do mediocre job because we didn’t have enough time to do our best the first time. Counting every hour is just more thinking, but if we make every hour count, and then we are doing.

Expanding Our World

WHAT A WONDEFUL WORLD

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

“Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one’s courage.”— Anais Nin

Courage is not about taking the fear away. Courage is about living a life we want and dream about. When we have courage, we are giving ourselves the opportunity to expand our worlds so we can discover and see new things. Our world shrinks when we stop learning about ourselves and about the world. Fear and self-doubt is only paralyzing if we don’t go through them. Going through one’s fears means doing what we want anyway. We’re tougher than we think. There are necessary fears and there are unnecessary fears. However, there is little to fear. Courage is only required when we’re in the state of fear.  Since both come from the same place, we might as well take the big step of courage because courage is something we decide and execute. Courage increases our faith in ourselves when fear leaves us to doubt.

Standing In The Shadows Of Life

Untitled

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Most of the shadows of life are caused by standing in our own sunshine. — Ralph Waldo Emerson

One of the reasons we don’t make breakthroughs in our lives is because we stand in our way to only be left with unfinished projects. A part of us wants success and another part of us is afraid to succeed. The part of us who is afraid to succeed finds external reasons as an excuse for not completing something we started. There will be good reviews and there will be bad reviews from others about what we do. The more successful a person becomes the more that person is targeted more for criticisms and hurtful criticisms. That’s one of the main reasons some of us are afraid to complete our dreams. What we know for sure is this life we’re living now and we might as well get out of our shells and do the things that makes us feel complete and shine for all to see.

Plan To Act

* Act of Persuasion *

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

“The possibilities are numerous once we decide to act and not react.”— George Bernard Shaw

When we act we’re implying that we have made a plan and maybe rehearsed the act in our heads. A plan is important because it gives us something to fall back on and to focus our energies which means we don’t have to react when something comes up. A plan gives us more of a direction and forces us to keep our attention on the tasks that we set up in the plan. We don’t have to wait for external events to  forced us to act instead we can start making decisions on what sort of plan we want for us to act accordingly. Planning gives us more control over our lives with fewer reactions.

What Do We Say To Ourselves

The Mahout Experience today: riding, swimming and learning how to control #elephants #namafia #laos

“It isn’t what happens to us that causes us to suffer; it’s what we say to ourselves about what happens.”— Pema Chodron

Things happen to us all the time. We each have our own way to cope with what comes along. It is through our backgrounds, our customs and our experiences as to how we deal with a problem. No one volunteers for bad things to happen. However, we do have the power to see things a certain way and to find some kind of meaning behind what happens to us.  Therefore, we can change our way of thinking and/or our mind-set for us to learn how to cope. We just have to ask ourselves what are we telling ourselves that could be perpetuating our suffering? Suffering is temporary.

Yesterday Versus Today

What a beautiful day-Bavaria today

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

“Don’t let yesterday use up too much of today.”— Cherokee Proverb

Today is the only thing we got. Yesterday is just a memory. And tomorrow is just an imagination. Today is our present to unwrap on how things are going to be. Today is a gift and an opportunity to live our lives to the fullest. Instead of looking back or looking forward, let us look around, look up, and look down at life as we see it. We need our full attention today for us to be most effective tomorrow. Yesterday will be a time when we will need to recall the previous learning experiences to use for us to function today and to plan for tomorrow.  Let us stay in the moment so there will be little interference of yesterday since we will need as much time today.

Weather The Storm

Rainbow's best

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Let us not deceive ourselves into believing that every aspect of a task or tasks we do should always be satisfying. We will have struggles, and not everything will go as plan. We will get frustrated, impatient, and especially at the beginning, have some doubts completing our tasks. These feelings are normal when it comes to learning a new task. These are challenges we must accept and prepare ourselves for. We will learn new discoveries about what we like and what we dislike during the experience. This is about learning to deal with life as is and instead of distorting what we think life should be. We have gone through struggles of completing a task, which made us a lot stronger than before.  We will face oppositions from ourselves such as a lack of focus, idleness, distractions, getting off track along the way. But if we want it badly enough, then we must continue to move uphill to weather the storm.

Praises In the Sunlight

“Praise is like sunlight to the human spirit: we cannot flower and grow without it.”— Jess Lair

When we have done our best and done the hard work, we need to feel appreciated by others. It makes a different when we receive praises from others. Praises feed our egos and lift our spirits to work even harder. Receiving praises let us know that our hard work is paying off. Receiving praises builds confidence in us. We’re not robots, but human beings who need strokes to feel that what we’re doing is worth the amount of pressure we put on our selves to grow.

The Decisions We Make

Decisions

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

“The more you love your decisions, the less you need others to love them.” — Unknown

When we love our decisions more, we’re letting go of the need for others to guide us or to get their approval. We’re beginning to make our own path by relying more on ourselves and by trusting ourselves even more. It is very important to have faith in us to make the right decisions for ourselves. When we make our own decisions we gain back our control and power. The decisions we make are for us not for someone else to make unless there is a spouse or a family involved. Making important decisions is a big thing because most of our decisions we’ve made so far today will affect us tomorrow.   So why not make our own decisions so we don’t have to place the blame on external events. Freedom is the way to make decisions freely without the need of others to love them.
