Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It’s a relationship between equals.— Pema Chodron
Anger and hostility is an act of protecting old wounds and old sorrows that haven’t yet healed. No one wants to be close to someone who’s irritated. That is the purpose anger is to keep others at bay and to protect. On the other hand, compassion helps us to acknowledge that we’re hurting from our pains and that we sometimes need others to help us work through them. Sometimes we cover up our pains with our display of anger. If only we feel our pains, then our wounds will begin to heal. Anger is not bad or good; it is just another emotion that serves a certain purpose. We just need to understand that every one of us has experienced different emotions whether they are negative or positive.
