He who is contented is rich. — Lao Tzu
Society has sold us on the idea that to being rich will lead us to contentment. External things are not enough to satisfy us. Sure, we will be comfortable and have some freedom, but we still feel a longing in our hearts. Contentment is internal experience as a result of understanding that life is more than just seeing how many goodies we can gather. Living a life of contentment is about letting go of those goodies and just being ourselves while living a meaningful life. We must look inside ourselves and discover what makes us happy. That’s where we will find our contentment.
