Courage That Counts

Courage

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Success is never final, failure is never fatal. It’s courage that counts. — John Wooden

Success is telling us that whatever we’re doing, continue doing it if we want it.  If we see failures of ourselves and others as educational, then it’s okay.  It takes courage for us to fail and succeed. We need to experience both failure and success for us to deal with them. Courage helps us to take the necessary steps to get through the aftermath of success and failure. It is important that we learn something about our struggles so that we can know ourselves better.

Imagining the Possibilities

Imagination

The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination. — Albert Einstein

Knowledge is gathering information while imagination is a visual exercise of the mind. When we close our eyes, we open our minds to many possibilities. The many opportunities are endless if we are open to them. If we allow ourselves to let briefly go of our old ideas, then we can welcome new ideas. Using our imagination can free us from our biases or at least temporarily. We can allow ourselves to readjust to new ideas if we want to see beyond what we now know.

Testing What’s Possible

We are afraid of the enormity of the possible.

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

You can do what’s reasonable or you can decide what’s possible. — Unknown

We can test what’s possible in a reasonable way. We won’t know if don’t test what’s possible. We have to push the envelope to test to see what works and to understand why certain things won’t work. This is a period when we gather information. This will help us open our minds for possibilities that we never thought about before. If we find ourselves not growing or not getting results, then we have to decide and test what’s possible for ourselves.

A Clear Mind

Keep your head clear. It doesn’t matter how bright the path is if your head is always cloudy. — Unknown

We even need our head cleared when our path seems foggy at times, so we’re able to maneuver better. For us to keep our mind clear, we need to make explicit what plan to execute. We need to write things down, so we have a better grip on them. And we need to remind ourselves what is our purpose when we first started on our path.  Before we start anything, we can sit at a quiet place and allow our minds to clear up so we can be most effective.

Discover From Experience

Never regret. If it’s good, it’s wonderful. If it’s bad, it’s experience. — Victoria Holt

Regrets just bring us down. There are some things we’ve got to learn the hard way. Learning things the hard way is an experience that we needed so to open up our minds to another way of thinking and new understanding about life and self-discovery. It is wonderful when we make good decisions and things work out the way we hoped.  We can’t stop making decisions unless we know that individual decisions will take us off track.  Experiences are our teacher to help us give way to life discoveries.

Don’t Lose the Lessons

Illuminations

When you lose, don’t lose the lesson. — Unknown

Lessons are like gold nuggets; they give us clues as to where we want to do next. Lessons help us to build character. Lessons are not meant for us to feel or to be lectured to about life, but to give us some wisdom so that we have the opportunity to apply to our life for the rest of our lives.  It doesn’t mean we’re lost or defended when we lose. When we lose, we gain more wisdom than if we’ve won. The lost we feel can be a powerful indicator that there is an important lesson to be learned.  It’s not always important to win most of the time. Besides, how will we appreciate the one without the other? We all have experienced both losing and winning.

Life’s Like A Movie

Life’s like a movie, write your own ending. Keep believing, keep pretending. — Jim Henson

We can write our script. We don’t have to follow some else’s path. Instead, we are here to figure out our way. We each have a unique set of circumstances that we can draw from that will help determine our path. We keep believing in ourselves to continue to move forward where we want to go in life. We keep pretending so that sooner or later we become what we’ve dreamed of doing. We each have to walk our path for us to grow into what we want to become.  What we become is what determines how we write our ending.

Find Yourself In the Present

In the process of letting go you will lose many things from the past, but you will find yourself. — Deepak Chopra

In order words, we’re not defined by our past. Therefore, we don’t have to identify with the past as though that’s all to live for.  Our past is a reflection of what we did and experienced in our lives. Letting go means leaving the past behind us instead of looking into the lens of our past. We can look at what’s in front, and we can plan for our future just as we plan long go. What we do today is the result of what we did in the past. We find ourselves in the present because we are not looking anywhere but our present where we can be at our best.

Out of difficulties

Relief and difficulty

Post Written By Eugene Morgan

Out of difficulties grow miracles. — Jean de la Gruyere

Out of difficulties, we learn something about ourselves that we haven’t know before. We’ve discovered how strong we’ve become. We’ve learned that we can rely on ourselves more and make things happen with our actions. Life difficulties can reveal to us our true character to ourselves and others. When we see a challenging and daunting tasking in from us to do, our body has an urge to resist. However, when we proceed with the task, we have conquered ourselves, and that’s extraordinary thus a miracle. We have broken up the belief that we can’t do something difficult if we focus.
